My 10-Minute Pre-Flight Prep: Getting Your Cabin Ready
One of the benefits of me staying on-site is that I handle the final room prep. You don't need to run around before I arrive. Here is what I do before I fly.
1. The Cable Management
I spend the first 10 minutes hiding visible TV cords, unplugging appliances, and tidying up chargers. Less visual clutter makes the space feel calmer.
2. Lighting Steps
I turn on all the lamps and downlights. Even during the day, interior lighting adds warmth to the video.
3. Opening the Space
I open the blinds and sliding doors to show the connection to the outdoors. If there are screens blocking the view, I tuck them away.
4. Fire & Water
If there is a wood burner or hot tub, I get them going before the flight. Movement—like fire or steam—looks good on camera.
5. The Final Tidy
I stash the dish soap, sponges, and remotes in a drawer. I clear the surfaces so the focus stays on the architecture.
You don't need to do any of this. It's part of my process.
